- Installation
-
- You can run HighTest Lite from a floppy or hard drive. The
- fastest way to use it is to make a directory on a hard disk, such as
- \HTLITE, copy the files from the distribution diskette to that
- directory, use PKUNZIP to unzip the files, prepare the system (if
- necessary), and type HTLITE <enter> from within the directory wherein
- HighTest Lite was installed.
-
- To run from a floppy drive, which is the best way to collect test
- data from many systems, install HighTest Lite on a hard drive and then
- copy the files to a 720Kb, 1.2Mb or 1.44Mb floppy disk. Alternatively,
- you can use PKUNZIP to unzip the files directly to a floppy drive from
- a floppy drive by simply typing PKUNZIP source.drive:htlite target.-
- drive/path <enter>. For example:
-
- PKUNZIP A:HTLITE B:

- Setup
-
- HighTest Lite will run reliably on most systems without special
- preparation. However, because it does use DOS extender technology, it
- is best to remove expanded memory management (EMM) software -- such as
- EMM386, QEMM and 386Max -- from the system before running it. If EMM
- EMM software is present, test results may be somewhat lower than when
- EMM software is not installed.
-
- If you do not know if EMM software is used on the system being
- tested, HTLITE will tell you before running tests. Read the warning
- message on the screen and/or the instructions in the HTLITE.DOC file
- regarding methods for removing EMM from the system.
